After doing Penguin's "hide n' seek" portion of his race tournament I thought it would be a good idea if we had a minigame like this.

The arena would be several maps large, and the seekers would wait in the middle of it until the runners' time to hide is up. Then, the runners will be frozen in place and the seekers will have a limited time to find the runners and attack them. No names, HP, or SP bars will be shown to make it fairer.

How does this sound? If you have any suggestions or can think of a more Mario-ish name then please let me know!

This sounds like a very nice idea. A classic game, with an imaginative take on it.

Two things:

1. I'm pretty sure there's a time limit for the seeker. If so, how long?
2. how big do you think it'll be? Similar to the MK, smaller, or bigger?

The time limits for both the hiders and the seekers depends on the size of the area. I'd say the arena would be a little smaller than the MK, if not the same size, but I doubt I'll make it bigger. I'll decide on the size once I start working on it.

3x3 maps would be best, I think.  Would this be a full-fledged minigame, with Reward tokens and such?

It sounds great, but I would suggest putting the seekers in another room like the DB waiting room, and the hiders, when they've found their hiding places, press a switch in the middle which gives them 25 seconds to return to their hiding places. After the 25 seconds, the seekers in the room get TPed to the arena.

The 25 seconds is just to get back into your hiding spot you've chosen out. If the map is big, it might allow for more time than 25 seconds, but you should get an overall 1-2 minutes to choose a hiding place before the switch automatically goes off.

As far as a Mario-ish name goes, I think it should relate to the Boo enemy, since it hides when you look at it.

Seek n Scare?
Boobusters?

IMO the hiders should sprite change to one character, like a boo or a shy guy, so everyone have equally the same hidding size. Otherwise Toads would have a big advantage over big characters like Wario, or Waluigi.

I would, as it's a bit of a simpler game after Dodgebill, that and it could be playable with as few as 2 or 3 players, which is nice.
