Can't pick up items, attack, and one other thing

EDIT: Apparently it's just my computer, though a solution to this would be nice as my other computer is quite laggy in games like this.

-died
-relogged
-double checked for patches

...the problem persisted.

I don't know why this happened, it just... did.

Additionally, when I start the game, a red zero floats above my character's head and goes off screen... it's probably something due to showing damage numbers, but I don't know what causes it.

You pick up items with ENTER and attack with CTRL (You may pressed the wrong buttons) if that is not the case then i cant help here, about the music... try to go to options in game (or config i dont know what it is called) and turn off the music and sound after that open the window again and turn both on again that should fix it.

I know the controls, and everything... nothing works on the computer I'm talking about and the only other one that works is very annoying due to lag...

We've tried finding ways of resolving this, but we cannot seem to find a logical reason for the cause of these occurrences. The only thing I can think of is that there are problems, either significant or minor, with your computer's registry. The programming language used to create Super Mario Bros. Online interacts with the system registry, hence the reason it only runs on the Windows operating system, so if there are any problems with the registry, there may be problems with the way your specific computer interprets the code. Because of this, you may experience problems such as the ones you're currently experiencing.

Again, I'm not sure if this is why your glitches are occurring, but it's the only explanation I can provide, sorry.
