So I'm getting a couple friends to start a new character on SMBO with me, and he's getting this weird glitch where the game client's window isn't fully occupied. Basically, the text that's coded in shows up in the right place (the center), but the textures and the background are all glitched out. He can't even see his inventory.

Using Windows 7, I made sure he installed the files correctly. Screen resolution 1960x1080. I just uploaded the version of SMBO on my computer for him to download instead, so hopefully that works.

Hey Penguin,

I'm not sure I've seen this issue before. It seems like something has gone wrong with your friend's graphics. Did he run the Windows Vista/7 Fix before playing? It can be found here: http://supermariobrosonline.tk/uploads/Windows_Vista_&_7_Fix.rar

Make sure he extracts the .RAR file and runs the fix as an administrator (Right click -> Run as administrator). If your friend has already done this, then make sure he runs the SMBO Patcher (as an administrator) to get the latest updates. If none of that works, have him uninstall SMBO, disable his anti-virus (if he has one), then try reinstalling SMBO again. After SMBO is reinstalled he can try enabling his anti-virus again. He should then make sure to run the SMBO Patcher.

If your friend experiences further issues, we could try to set up a remote session in which I could try helping him with the issue directly.

Please let me know if any of this helps!

I'm pretty sure he's done all of that already, but let me check. I asked about his anti-virus and he said he uninstalled it a while ago, and I made sure he ran the windows 7 fix as an admin. He also reinstalled SMBO 2 times, but it hasn't worked so far.
So far I'm thinking that the game client enlarged itself, or that the BG images and all the GFX got scaled down. Maybe it would help if we found the size of his game client

Hey Penguin,

Sorry for the incredibly late reply. Do you have an update on this? Was your friend able to get everything working? The remote session option is still open. My semester ends next Friday (December 20), so I'll be working almost exclusively on personal projects for the next 4 weeks or so after that, meaning I will have more time in general.

Great to hear! Would you happen to know what he did exactly to fix the issue?

He didn't tell me specifically; all I know is that he did what you originally replied with and that seemed to fix whatever issue he had.
