Okay, I'm trying to get SMBO on my new computer, but I keep getting error 339 every time I load up the game.
I registered VBMP.ocx multiple times, and I'm still getting the error. Any ideas?

Yup, did all of those and still getting the error.
Maybe it doesn't work for Windows 8, because the guide doesn't list it.

SMBO has been confirmed by hydra to work on Windows 8. Did you download the appropriate library files (64 bit library files for 64-bit operating system, etc.)?

Hey Shroomerson! As Kimi mentioned, I'm currently running Windows 8, and I have no problem with SMBO. I installed it just as you would on Windows 7. We've found that some anti-viruses prevent the library files from installing correctly, so try to disable your anti-virus before installing them. If your anti-virus is Windows Defender, then don't worry about disabling it. Also, try disabling the User Account Control (search Settings for "UAC" and choose the only option) by moving the level to the very bottom. After this, attempt to install the library files again but as an administrator this time. Then, try to run SMBO.
I hope that helps!

I turned off my antivirus and it's still giving me error 339. btw, I'm 64-bit, but installing the 64-bit version download still isn't solving anything.

Try also disabling the User Account Controls. Then, download and run this file.

In this case, it seems like we'll have to set up a remote session so that I can help you out directly. Please send me a PM with the dates and times during which we can do the remote session, and I'll see if I can accommodate your schedule. The remote session itself shouldn't take long; getting our schedules in sync is usually the challenging part.

Resolved the issue for MarioMan564 by downloading the Windows Vista & 7 Fix from the SMBO website. After the download completed, I extracted the .RAR file, and right-clicked on the Windows Vista & 7 Fix.exe file and unblocked it. After that, I ran the file as an administrator, and SMBO now works!
