I've been playing lots of SSBB lately and I'm thinking of taking up another character to practice. It'd be great if you could post the character you like to play as (please don't do meta knight or make up your judgements off of the tier list, I desregard a good portion of how the tier list ranks characters), as well as a couple reasons why you like that character. I'll start off with an example:
I like playing as Lucas because: -Good set of projectiles -Floating second jump -Magnet Pull, Thundersliding, and PK Fire-Jump Glitches -Tether recovery, as well as strong knockback throws -High KO potential with smashes -Trip-locking attack

I've been playing a lot of SSBB lately too. I like playing as Luigi, Yoshi, and Sonic 'cause I love those characters. , as well as playing with Marth, Peach, Toon Link, and Kirby. (I do have other secondary characters I like being as well). I don't exactly know why I like being them tbh probably cause their moves fit my style. I just play for fun, so I choose whoever I want.

I haven't played a non-hacked version of Brawl in forever, but I always used to main Ness. I've become much more of a fan of Lucas since playing Brawl-, for many reasons similar to Peng's. I've always played Mario and Luigi off and on as well, but I never considered myself good enough to hold my own as them in vanilla-Brawl.

Heh, I haven't played vanilla myself in a long time either, I use Brawl + I think it was. I haven't heard of - until recently, and I haven't checked it out yet. I love hacks (or mods if you will).

If you guys love Brawl mods you should definitely check out Project: M; it's the best mod out there.

Unfortunately, I've been trying to play brawl mods but I've been having glitches with homebrew and stuff that sometimes causes my wii to freeze up, and I don't want to be too risky on things like that, therefore I'm stuck playing vBrawl all the time... Anyways, here's my current list of characters, mostly in order of the best that I play at to the weakest: 1. Falco (Mainly because of d-air spike, his strong backwards aerial, and chain-grabbing. He's also great to counter items in casual for-fun fights with the roll-throw tactic and the reflector) 2. Diddy (Strong aerials, banana peels!) 3. Lucas 4. Kirby
And here's a bunch of random characters I'm decent-good at, but I rarely play them anymore (In no specific order): Ike Marth Toon Link Fox Wolf Olimar DK Luigi Ness Zelda Sheik DDD Snake R.O.B

For Project: M you just need an SD card with the game loaded onto it. Then, start up Brawl and go to the Stage Creator and it'll load up. You can even play it online!

I only use Balanced Brawl MODs, I feel like others MODs arn't "Brawl" at all. A few days ago I had to delete all my retextures, right now I only have Geno over ROB.

One of my friends went to a site for Brawl Mods that included, but was not limited to:
Texture Hacks Custom Characters Custom Stages Custom Final Smash's
Personally, I liked the Mario & Luigi together custom that replaced Ice Climbers, but I've never modded my game. I'll try to find the site for anyone who's interested.
As for my favorite characters, Mario, Sonic, Snake, Ice Climbers, Fox, Falco, and Pokemon Trainer.

I'll try to find the site for anyone who's interested. I use BrawlVault for mods, and BrawlCustomMusic for music (biggest brstm music site you'll find!) @Penguin, what method did you use? I use Riivolution myself (though I had to install it through Homebrew). If you have problems with freezing ingame, it might be a bad file (the smashbros_sound.brsar file is an easy file to go bad if not changed right, though it might be another file), or an oversized common common5.pac. There are other reasons, like conflicting codes. I've gotten the Wii/game to freeze over 100 times myself because of these problems, and it still works. I was actually worried the first few times I got it to freeze myself... heheh. Usually when testing new things out I put the volume down so I don't have to hear that awful noise loudly if it freezes because something didn't work right.

I got project M, and it works great so far! The only 2 things I dislike about it are: 1. The airdodging. I really dislike the melee airdodging, and it's returned in project M. 2. You lose your vertical momentum from jumps and stuff if you use an aerial right after jumping.
I really like the new movesets though, some of them offer extremely strategic options. Is there a single hack that can be used without homebrew or anything that just gives modded movesets and/or textures? I like project M as an alternate to having fun, but I think I'll stick to vBrawl for most tournament playing and such.

Project: M was designed to be a competitive game, so the character balance is better than the other SSB games. I can understand your preference for Brawl's airdodging, but Melee's airdodge allows wavedashing, which is preferable for a competitive game. For #2 you're probably referring to Double Jump Cancelling (DJC for short), an advanced technique present in SSB64 and Melee but removed from Brawl. Only characters with double jumps that don't rise immediately can perform it (Ex. Yoshi, Lucas, Ness).

Just realized that DJC is only for those few characters with a special 2nd jump.
Is it just me, or is Wario's DSmash just a little overpowered in a sense? I can chain it on heavy characters like DDD 3-4 times stacking up to almost 50-60 damage before they can escape.

I dont care about competitive gameplay as long as the game is fun, Im too fond to Brawl core so I'm not too fond in trying new Brawl mods.
Anyways, for people having problems with Brawl mods. Brawl hacks only work in non SDHC. Brawl and Homebrew library limitations.

Hmm, reminds me of Peach in Melee except she was able to do it on almost every character, lol.
