Interesting. Looks good so far. Also, you kinda shifted from the usual mentality that World 1 = Grasslands and World 2 = Desert. Other than that, excellent work. I can't wait to see this finished.

The second screen looks pretty good, but there are a few minor things to point out about the first. 1. It looks really flat, I'm not sure whether or not that's how most of the level is, but flat levels like that can become quite boring. 2. It also looks really monotonous. The CGFX are nice, but I noticed how the light poles are placed in exact increments away, and there are also 3 goombas placed in exact increments from each other too. Also, your levels shown both start with 5 blocks right at the beginning. The base design is looking good, but when you get down to really good episodes and stuff, you need to be mindful of these minor things too. 3. In the second screen, you mixed SMB3 scenery with an SMW tileset. It's really not that big of a deal, but I think that an SMB3 tileset would work much nicer with the Background Objects. 4. In the second screen, you misplaced the water effect. You need to shift it down about half a tile or so. 5. In the second screen, you stuck a coin in the ground. It's just my opinion on this, but I think you need to tone down on coins there. When people outline jump paths with coins, they typically only use 3-5 coins.
