Hello there! Welcome to the forums Legacy Yoshi!  Tongue

The way I see it at this point is that maybe it's time to get some new people on-board the development team.

^I don't think this is an option. After talking with Kimi before they would prefer that the project is their own work and as such it holds lots of memories for them.

While SMBO was still being actively developed, we mentioned that we were not interested in bringing anyone else onto the development team. While SMBO holds a lot of sentimental value to me and Kimi, we also made this decision because we felt the general feel of SMBO would not be quite the same if someone else were to take it on. I'm sure there are plenty of great level designers out there, but each one has his/her own style, and not every one of them has the depth of knowledge about the Mario universe that Kimi and I have. The latter point is very important, because just about all of SMBO's concepts were inspired in some way by a concept in an official Mario game.

I've always wanted to help with SMBO. For a while, I was thinking about asking to be apart of the Dev team. But I soon realized after playing SMBO for a while that our visions are very different. And our feels are very different. And if I were to help with SMBO, I wouldn't be satisfied with my contributions because it would differ too greatly from SMBO itself. So I started my own project that carries bits and pieces of what I liked about SMBO while maintaining my own vision.

Might as well take me out of the tourney then. I'm not gonna make it. 3 PM EST sucks for me as I've explained before. *sigh*

I'm interested! I see this is a real tournament too and not some jank tourney with Items on and crap.
This will be my first tournament too, I hope I don't screw up the rules too much. xD
My only concerns are, how many stage bans there are, if there are any (wasn't clarified in the rules) and the time for the tourney.
I hope the strawpoll for the time doesn't screw me over, because I'm in the PST Timezone and I wake up very late in the day.

That sounds like the timers are broken. Or the EXE is an outdated one. Did your friend also run the patcher to make sure his was fully updated? Because I just logged on and SMBO is acting normal for me. Also, perhaps your account is outdated? Try making a new one and see if the problem still persists.

Last case scenario, I can just send you my entire SMBO.rar since I know mine works.

7  General / Fan Creations / Re: Planning to make a MMORPG Remake of Super Mario RPG: LotSS and Mario & Luigi SS on: February 09, 2015, 05:13:28 pm
Unless you can fine some body willing to just give you their Tilesets, you're gonna have to make them on your own. Making a game like this takes alot of time and most importantly, Passion.

It's hard as hell to find programmers, especially ones that'll do it for free. I think it's better that you take your time and actually learn the Engine for yourself. It's not TO hard. There alot of tutorials on the Eclipse Forums that can help you out too.

As for the Engine...

Eclipse Stable is my choice. It's very well developed while only having a few bugs right off the bat. Most of them are easy fixes anyways. Very easy for me to code in and understand. It also comes with an excellent scripting system that Eclipse Origin's lacks. One BIG downside to ES is that there is very little tutorials for it around.

Eclipse Origins isn't very good IMO. I have a game on EO 2.3 Event System, and it was buggy as hell. The engine isn't very clean and it's harder for me to code in. Now they have EO 4 and such. I haven't tested those out, they may be much better than before. Although how much better I'm not sure. One BIG upside to using EO is that there ALOT of tutorials for it on the Eclipse Fourms. And instead of the Script System, it has a great Event System which comes pretty close to the scripting system that ES has.

But that's just my thoughts. Good Luck!

Have you tried running the patcher a few times? That's what my friend had to do. Or maybe the server is just SUPER laggy for you.

No problem. I'm glad I could help!

This has happened to me with my fangame along time ago. My friend had this exact problem.

As far as I can remember, the fix involves making your display smaller.

Like this:

I hope this helps!

It's nice, but not my cup of tea. It strays away from the character's original design to much.
12  Super Mario Bros. Online / Glitches / Re: inventory causing lag? on: May 21, 2013, 07:06:46 pm
I'd say I also get some lag with the inventory system, but not all the time. Though it could just be this old hunk of crash for a computer that I'm using. Only 1.82gb of ram, ew.  Shocked
