16  Super Mario Bros. Online / Glitches / Special Badge Copies on: October 28, 2013, 10:33:03 pm
Okay, I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not, but its something thats bothering me. I was fighting the Green Coconutter, and it keeps giving me Spin Badges. They're not doing anything, except taking up inventory and bank space. I can't drop or sell them, and I'm not sure if they can be traded. Is there a chance you can make them droppable, or at the very least sellable? Or make it so that if you already have one, the enemy doesn't drop or give more?

Yo, Razz the Koopa here. Yeah, I know. Almost a year of hiatus, and not even a postcard. Shame on me for that. If anyone wants to know where I've been, PM me and I'll try to explain what happened.

Anyways, I'm here to post a working Beta of a game project that I've been working on for almost 2 years now.

              

                    Sonic Chronicles: Dimensional Heroes

It's a Sonic the Hedgehog Fangame Project that I had planned over 5-6 years ago. Anyways, let me get into this a little.

The game will focus mainly on Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends as they adventure on and into a threat that only shows itself about halfway through the game. Unfortunately, the game is nowhere near its Halfway point. But that doesn't mean you won't find some enjoyment in it.

There is almost, if not over, 15 hours of Gameplay in the current build And plenty of Secrets, too.

Here's just a few notes that I've gotten complaints about. Yes, the game DOES contain Fan Characters. This is to add to the story, and not intended to screw up the Sonic the Hedgehog Universe in any way.

The game also contains some Cameo Appearances and References. I.E. Razz the Koopa appears in it and has his own shop. The items and equipment in his shop, while seemingly over-powered and a pain to obtain, are all references to the Mario series, and some are required to complete a few Side Quests. Anything from his shop however, is not required to beat the game.

The controls for the game are simple. Using the Arrow Keys, you move your characters around. Holding down Shift allows you to run. Pressing the Escape or X keys open the menu, and are used like the B Button in many cases. Pressing the Enter or Z Keys allows you to make a selection on the menu, or interact with whatever you're facing, and works much like the A Button in many cases. The A Key allows you to show or hide the Scouter HUD in the Top-Left Corner. The HUD only displays the HP and MP of the party leader, and only in the form of Bars. You'll figure it out.

All battles are fought in Turn-Based Style, with the exception of a puzzle boss later in the game. Same controls apply: Esc/X to cancel action or back out of a menu, and Enter/Z to confirm your choices.

Included in this game is something unused in any other Sonic game correctly. After a certain point in the game, certain characters will be able to use Transformations. I.E. Super Form, Dark Form, ect. These will inflict a status effect to boost stats, change their appearance, and the skills available to use. Characters without Transformations instead have a unique skill. I.E. Tails Robo Repair, and Rouge Steal.

And finally, some known bugs that appear, but do not alter gameplay or affect the game in a way as to block progress or crash it.

Party Frozen on the Map Screen: When changing your party members with the Party Option, they may appear frozen on the map screen after exiting the menu. Same goes if you do something like jumping on a spring. This is because I had to remove a part of the scripting in the Centipede Party Follow script because it interfered with the Transformations Script in a way that crashes the game if you try to revert form or the battle ends while transformed. This glitch doesn't affect the game in any bad or harmful way, and can be fixed by moving to a new map.

And a bug that will crash the game, but I hope to not have to create again.

Game Crashes when trying to change Party Members: This happens if the Actors list (Playable Characters) is extended or shortened. The only way to fix this is to start a new game, because your save file becomes incompatable with that build.


And one more thing. Except in certain events or instances, Sonic will always be locked in place in the Party. This is because if you try to exit with no party members, the game will crash. Because, oddly enough, the HUD Script can't find an actor to display stats for.


EDIT 1: Discovered another Game Crashing Glitch. At the part after you get Cyrus, and after talking to Bio and dividing up the team, do NOT Save the game after chosing your party. Not only will the game crash, but your save file will become unusable.
