IP Config button was disabled a while ago.

I'll suppose you've already read the stickied post on general troubleshooting since it's in the same subforum, but if you haven't... http://www.smf4free.com/forums/supermariobrosonline/index.php/topic,1244.0.html

If you start from scratch and follow those directions exactly, but still experience the connection error, then you should ask Kimi or Hydra.

You can actually level fairly quickly up to around 20 or so. I call the farming period between level 20-35-ish the "dead zone" because that's honestly the hardest time to farm. You're forced to farm enemies that are much lower level than you because the ones that give you good EXP all aggro on you, and it's overall just a humongous pain. The place that's best for farming at that level range is also the place that no one even bothers going to anymore and is the farthest from any form of civilization: you have no shop and it's unbelievably far from Mushroom Town.

I'd say that farm goombas until level 3 and rush only stat points into attack, then as soon as possible buy your first weapon from the item store. At this point you should have somewhere around 4-5 attack, and then you can kill lakitus using the strategy shown in my camping/farming video, and each lakitu gives 8 EXP when you only need 70 or so to get to level 4. After you get to level 5 or so and only rush attack then you can start farming gloombas in the sewer using camping strategies until you reach around level 9 or so, and gloombas give 17 EXP and you need 250-ish to get to level 8 or 9. If you do it right you can actually reach level 10 in an hour or so. Just rush only attack until level 7/8, then you can slowly invest in defense, but you should still rely on equipment for most of your defense.

About the coconutter, if you have a bunch of honey syrups with you (or high enough FP), and stand on the bridge, you can fireball him to death without taking any damage. Wink

You can essentially do this without wasting money on FP items if you follow my video. Overall specials are not that good except for the healing ones for extra health and for PvP since trying to hit other players with your basic attack is a huge pain.

And I have tons of level 10-ish alts that I can play on. We could party farm and exp share while beating bosses and doing quests or something.

Also as a tip, you typically don't want to invest in stache or speed. From what I remember they only raise your crit/block chance by 0.4% each, and later you can get a badge which lets you run for days on out without running out of SP for like 3 minutes. In the future you do get some badges which give you minor crit and block chance boosts, which might be helpful if you already have some, but your core stats should be mostly HP and Attack, with enough defense to take only 1-2 damage from enemies.

If you ever get stuck in a maze or something you can always reference this guide, but be wary of looking at equipment charts and the world map if you don't like spoilers: http://www.smf4free.com/forums/supermariobrosonline/index.php/topic,915.0.html

I would love to get on and play with you sometime, although it'll probably be mid-june when school gets out.

To address some things from my viewpoint:

1. 1/8 of your current EXP is taken away... I think. It's not that much, and it depends on how you're farming.
2. The green coconutter and tutankoopa are the only bosses who don't have music in their room
3. Gloomba berries are a good healing item. I believe you can also find a cooking shop to get better healing items before even completing the first section (Koopa Islands), although it's quite a trek from Mushroom Town.
4. Defense is really good if you can build up a lot of it really fast, and probably 50%+ of any character's defense will come from equips. If I had my level 75 give me the level 60 armor from the last area, then it'd make the game way too easy.
5. Defense is your new best friend.
6. From what I recall with conversations long ago with Kimi and some other people, SMBO is exploration-based so that would kind of take the point away. There's also a sewer system a bit later in the game allowing you to navigate around much quicker.

Also, for very efficient farming, check out the "Kiting and Camping" videos in this thread:

http://www.smf4free.com/forums/supermariobrosonline/index.php/topic,1284.0.html

It essentially allows you to kill gloombas at low levels such as level 3-4 if you can abuse some nice farming spots. It also teaches you how to defeat the coconutter while taking barely any hits. The video is actually extremely helpful because the gimmick it teaches you applies to pretty much every enemy in the game given you know the right spots to farm at.

It was done a looong time ago for community beta testing, but this is what happens when you don't make an ICU gigasoft forums account: you don't know about this stuff.

You need to go make a forum account there cause for one it'll get you access to Starlite Worlds beta testing and stuff and will also let you access my much more-updated thread of Extended Edition.

You should probably check out the ICU gigasoft thread I made for Extended Edition because it's so much more updated than this thread. It gives really detailed stuff and I post there far more regularly on progress for the update.

And weapons are a no-go at the moment because they're a huge pain to get the animations to work. I will, however, be adding in a "merge shop" where you CAN merge resources with your current equipment (including weapons!) to make them stronger.

Special pipe's use hasn't been released yet. I've already implemented it into accessing the new area which will come in v1.3

Okay, thanks. I fixed that half FP cost thing now so it should work.

There are intentionally only 2 desks in the information center so far. The later ones will be filled up in future updates.

That's strange about the badge shop thing. Trading the pentagle should make the new graphics block available in the options shack. Did you go back to the options shack to check? Also the music room hasn't been released yet so don't bother looking for the key. I'll release it in v1.3 which I'm working on right now.

The graphics are kinda stuck like that. It's a pain to fix them and I'm procrastinating, but I'll try and get it done sooner or later.

As for the magic shirt, I'm pretty sure I fixed it. I might've changed its attributes but not the item description itself or vice versa.

Off-topic: Then don't post about making a comment in the first place because there's really no point in it.

On-topic: So how's progress on the newer engine coming along?
58  General / Fan Creations / Re: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Sages~Extended Edition v1.1 on: April 06, 2014, 01:26:08 pm
Yeah I don't know why it does that. It shouldn't be too much of a pain to guess-and-check the 2 correct paths in a row though, so I'm not worried too much.

Seven Sages v.1.2.3 is out now btw. If you want to stay updated then you should follow the beta testing thread on the ICU gigasoft forums.

Welcome Back!

I don't think much new content has been release in the past year though  Cry
