Hello, Bady! The server's IP changed, so a client patch will be released soon to enable you to get back on the game. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

That's very impressive, ThunderMario; the colors you used were spot on! Nice work!

Hello toxicflash, sorry for the delayed reply. What about the installation process are you having a problem with? Do you get any runtime errors when starting up the game? If so, which ones? Furthermore, which operating system are you using?

Here's a guide containing a lot of useful information in solving installation problems: http://www.smf4free.com/forums/supermariobrosonline/index.php/topic,1244.0.html

If you continue to experience any problems after following the guide, please don't hesitate to ask and we will help you further. Thanks for your interest in SMBO!

Hello xTazzCR, when are you getting the error?

Additionally, which operating system are you using? If you're using Windows Vista and above, please use the Windows Vista and above fix here.

Hello Vitor, did you get any error messages when you tried the steps I listed above? Make sure to run the command prompt as an admin by right-clicking it after it shows up in the search and clicking "Run as administrator."
22  General / General Chat / Re: HELP! on: July 03, 2016, 01:31:35 pm
Hello Vitor, we're sorry to hear you're having trouble getting the game to run. Please take a look at this guide and see if it solves it your problem:
http://www.smf4free.com/forums/supermariobrosonline/index.php/topic,1244.0.html

If that doesn't help, try the following:

1) Open up the command prompt. To do this, click on the Windows Button, type "cmd" in the Search Bar, and hit Enter. The command window should pop up.
2) In the command window, type in the following:
3) cd c:\windows\syswow64
4) Now press Enter. Then, type in the following:
5) regsvr32 VBMP.ocx
6) Now press Enter and click OK on the window that comes up saying dllregserver succeeded.

If you are still experiencing this problem after these steps please let us know.

Hey ckrules! It's great to see that you're doing well! I'm glad you remembered the game after so long and appreciate you coming back to thank us. I remember playing minigames like Steal the Shroom and Dodgebill with you and many others during the game's heyday; good times indeed!

You're welcome, and I wish you the best of luck in college!

Hey purplystuff! Sorry, last weekend was pretty busy and I didn't get around to checking the forums. Feel free to send me a PM with your idea. What did it say when you tried to PM me?

I would suggest prioritizing your game concept immediately and holding off on anything else until you have something solid. It's very tempting to jump right in, but if you don't have a clear vision and don't do everything you outlined, the project will take longer than expected and you will end up spending a lot of time revising what you have down already, which will greatly hurt your motivation.

I'm not trying to discourage you in any way. In fact, it's the opposite; I want to see your project succeed. However, I'm speaking from my own experience as I have made the same mistake several times and don't want to see others fall into the same trap. You don't need to have literally everything 100% fleshed out, but I'd like see that some considerable design work has been done and the game is well-thought-out before any screenshots emerge.

Hi Krsim, glad to see your progress on your game. I would like to provide some points of advice:

-Please create new posts for only significant updates and/or update the original post with your version history. Making a new post for something small (Ex. Placing a lamp in place of a desk) will easily flood the topic and make it hard to search for feedback or anything else important.

-I would suggest fully realizing your game concept and writing it down somewhere (Ex. Google Docs) first before executing it. I and many others have made the same mistake of implementation before design. Fully designing your game before executing it provides you with the benefit of receiving early feedback and being able to modify the game before you actually have anything in place. Additionally, since Story is a very important part of an RPG, I am concerned that it is not designed yet and feel you don't know what to do with your game just yet. I suggest slowing down a little and thinking about what you want players to get out of this game, or what you want to do with it that isn't present in other Mario fangames or RPGs.

Hey purplystuff, how have you been? The server is up but it's not quite as active as it was in its heyday.

Hey phill987, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the patcher. Are you referring to a duplicate of the game or a duplicate of some other file?

If the patch is failing, try this:
Try resetting the patch number by opening the "patch" file in the "Patcher" folder, changing the number inside to 75, then running the patcher once again.

To open the "patch" file, you should use a text editor such as Notepad. Please let us know if this solves your problem.
