A group for the good of SMBO, sages, priests, and mages alike who fight for justice, sometimes for loot.

Here are the requirements:

-None. We're not recruiting unless we're more active or I know you, but there will be no silly requirements. However, you may want to bring along enthusiasm for DB.

Perks:

-We're now an official unofficial group of SMBO Helpers. (Yes, it's an oxymoron.) Mind you, we will most likely not know every single detail, but we can help you if and when necessary. Mind you, unless you want to really join, you might want to stay out of the group, unless you're very new.
-I, personally, can help set up STS games (And DB once the fourth character gets in MK via H(ammer) B(arrage) B(adge), unless the intended game types are 2v2/3v3, in which case I can get 2 characters in.) Mind you, we're not going to let a single team take all the prizes and glory - teams will be split up evenly, with 1 or 2 of my characters on each side. This is fair play; we/I don't want to token pad, which is frowned upon, anyway.
-We can either set up bodyguards, if necessary, or help you get through M(ushroom) K(ingdom) P(ath) up to, and including, the defeat of Kamek. I, myself, will help with the badge collection, so there's no worry for you on that department.

Hope you join us. Wink That is, once we accept group registration.
78  Super Mario Bros. Online / Suggestions / List of suggestions on: July 05, 2010, 11:51:56 pm
With the release of character-specific tiles, I thought I'd bring this up. These suggestions may bring a lot of teamwork, or maybe block some people off an area.

---Character-specific shops and favors---

Players would find a building, marked at the door a light green tile. Only Luigi can enter this shop to purchase the items the Luigi player needs. (This goes for any character, I used Luigi as an example.) Some are equipment, some items, and maybe badges for the character, too. The shops would be hard to find, or in plain sight, depending on the stock.

Character-specific favors follow a similar path. The person who gives the favor may be within spitting distance, but you're not a Wario player and can't start it. (Again, an example.) That means, only Wario can attempt this favor, and it's usually something just for him.

---Character Teamwork---

Let's say you were a Mario character, and your favor was to get a Bright Shroom. (Examples before and after this.) Unfortunately, you need Luigi to get this item, and your not him. Fortunately, the Bright Shroom (has to be) is tradeable, so a Luigi player can grab it for you to give to you. This is teamwork of two characters.

---Character-specific Badges---

A character-specific badge is usually used to boost his strong points, but it may also be needed to get past a doorway. For example, a Brother Badge may be used to get past a tile opposite of your brotherly relationships. (Say Luigi gets past a Waluigi tile with the Brother Badge.) However, it will ONLY work on single-character spaces, and not multi-character.

---Character-block tiles---

You could be a Waluigi and find your color tile. Thinking it is indeed passable, you'll just be pushed back. Then you may notice a blue x in the corner, indicating you are FORBIDDEN to enter here. This also plays a role in character teamwork, as you may be blocked off an item you need, but others can get through without a hitch.

---Character-specific blocks---

You may be a Mario, and you find a block with your trademark M on top. That's your treasure to keep. They work the same way as ? blocks.

---BONUS: Character Maze---

Players can partake in a maze that requires themselves or multiple people. 1 person can play solo by buying a "Character-name key" and opening their respective door. If two or more people wish to play, they must buy a "Multi-Key" and access a different door, then stepping on their tiles to wait. Prizes (As CM Cards) can be exchanged for badges and items.

Opinions?

I finished mine. Hopefully, there'll be more.

EDIT: My wish came true, looks like I'll start collecting those, too.

81  Super Mario Bros. Online / Suggestions / Re: A user shop? on: May 26, 2010, 04:47:34 pm
How, might I ask, would it break the game?

It could maybe even be a simple shop message above the player's head. They wouldn't be able to do anything but talk. Then when you click on the message, a pop-up appears with the items they have for sale and the price.

It couldn't break the game if it was simple as that, and people wouldn't earn money like crazy. First, you have to GET the items. Then you have to hope someone comes by and looks. And THEN if they want to buy any of the items.

In all honesty I fail to see how 'this is a bad idea' and 'it would break the game'. Shouldn't take too much work (I'm guessing) and it wouldn't crash the game unless a large number of people were on at the same time with their shops open. I've seen nine people on at one time before, nothing higher. And most of them won't wait around for someone to buy something; they're off training or looking for cards.

I support what's in bold. This would be a nice way to "Set up shop", and have a system so the player stays in that spot or they "Close shop." And maybe have an anti-flood/anti-spam system, too, so that people would only be allowed to say things without A ) Filling the screen and B ) Saying the same thing over and over. Because who wants that? Not one of us, surely.
82  Super Mario Bros. Online / Trading / Re: Medic (And Draco)'s Medical Shop and Equipment on: May 22, 2010, 08:58:16 pm
That's fine Draco. And judging by the votes, it's a tie between Badges and Weapons & Armor. And remember to post what else you want if you voted for Misc.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, but I may stock FP Plus Badges and perhaps 1st- or 2nd-level weapons tomorrow.
83  Super Mario Bros. Online / Suggestions / Re: A user shop? on: May 22, 2010, 11:37:42 am
100 coins = Everyone would want one and get one easily. How about either 7500 coins, 500 WAM Tokens, 100 STS Tokens or 200 DSPs, depending on location?

Usual Item Prices:

You'll pay full price except under these conditions:

-Hats to you: You get a 10% discount off Restoring/Regening/Buff items SELLING price if you're wearing a hat, found in Koopa Islands Village and, most recently, Mushroom Kingdom. (So a Dry Bones Treat base is 40. 10% off is 36 instead.)
-New character: If your character is Level 4-, you'll get a 50% discount off ONE weapon, armor or badge, in Coins. (Each D(im)S(tar)P(iece) is 10 coins, so an HP Plus would = 100 coins, full price. You should know half-price of that.)
-Dim collector: Each DSP is 10 coins full price. Buying in bulk reduces this price. For every 10 DSPs you buy, you get 10% off each DSP. (So 10 DSPs would only be 90 coins.). Deal capped off at 50 DSPs.
-Sewage treatment: You get a 10% discount off items found in the Sewers only. (Such as a Gloomberry)
-Card Collector: Looking for a card you don't have yet? It's 25% off if you're still looking for that pesky Coconutter card or some other card. (Please be honest. Normal cards = 125, Boss = 250 Updated prices, see below for information and above for new, more understandable prices.)
-Veteran 50: Those customers who are over level 50 and have registered 5 months ago will have 5% off Mini-Game items and currency. They can also use a secondary option to pay for standard stock, which was created when the post was first made.
-Cleated Cuts: Mushroom/Flower Badges are 10% off to those wearing shoes at the time of starting the trade. Shoes, AKA leg armor, can be found at Flower Hills, but you need to do a favor before you can get them.

Mini-Game Tokens/items or Badges:

WAM (Whack-a-Monty) Tokens are 3 coins each.
Each Steal-the-Shroom (STS) Token is 7 coins now 4 coins.
Each DSP is 10 coins apiece.
Each Star Piece is 7 DSPs or 70 coins.
Each Dodgebill Token is 7 coins Reduced to 4, matching STS token price.

Hiring: Shell Collectors (30 coins/shell salary) (Hunts for Tough Koopa Shells or TKS for the Blue G. Cola)
Cake Mix collectors (20 coins/mix salary) (Same as Shell collectors, but for Cake recipes.)
Herb Collectors (20 coins/ P. Herb, 10 coins/ R. Herb salary) (Same as others, but for herbs)

Earnable positions:
Clerk of Drinks (Whatever he/she makes* + 100 coins/week salary) (Hunts Red Gnarantulas for Red G. Cola for the Blue G. Cola recipe, makes them, and sells them.) (Earned by: No-one currently) (Requirements: Shell collector, earned 1500 coins from gathering shells.)
Clerk of Cookables (Whatever he/she makes* + 125 coins/week salary) (Hunts or purchases Mushrooms or Super Mushrooms for Cake Recipes or Shroob Shrooms, makes them, and sells them.) (Earned by: No-one currently.) (Requirements: Cake Mix collector or Herb collector, earned 1000 coins from gathering cake mixes and P. Herbs or 600 coins from R. Herbs.)

More when I think of them.

I will now take Star Pieces and Dodgebill Tokens for payment on items. I will also sell Star Pieces for coins, but I will not sell Dodgebill Tokens yet until I get the item that will help my Luigi Attack experiment out, as well as the card being sold there, bringing the total needed Dodgebill tokens to 110 or so.

Prices: Every Star Piece, according to the Trader in MK, is 10 DSPs. I will sell them as if you needed 7 (So 7 DSPs). Because of the location of Dodgebill, every DB token sold to me will give you 7 coins (So 10 DB tokens nets you 70 coins.). You MUST hand them over when my Attack experiment is online currently. Once DB Tokens are on sale, they'll be worth 7 coins as well.

Some recipes will also be stocked up, as with some cards, such as Pipe-Dwelling Lakitu.

Price Updates: Prices will now be based on drop rate, and how early you can acquire the item. Blue Gnarantula Cola will now be 45 coins instead of the original 50, but still yields a profit of 15 coins. Some ingredients for recipes will also go on sale, but only those that can only be obtained by means of enemy drops, meaning some drops that were create-able by the chefs, such as FP Jar Plus, will also be available.

Such items include Tough Koopa Shells, valued by this shop for 12 coins, Red Gnarantula Colas, valued for 22 coins, the Red Cherry, valued for 13 coins, the Goomba Card, valued for 325 coins, and the Pipe-Dwelling Lakitu card, valued for 1450 coins. (Note that the items can also be obtained by ? blocks at times, but are not counted, as there's no other way to obtain the item other than a drop.)

*This is not included in the person's pay, but the money he/she makes from selling the items is that persons to keep. The weekly salary of 100 or 125 coins is what the person is paid. Holding off paying salaries until I am more active.

I already Suggested a Quest with the drillbit shells Tongue

Well, yours is a hat reward, and mine is a Badge shop reward... provided you have 50 DSPs to pay for it.

EDIT: Updated first post.

Ok here is my question. How did that happen?

You just make the kills.
89  Super Mario Bros. Online / Game Discussion / Something you find interesting: on: April 26, 2010, 08:00:12 pm
It can be anything from humor to something noteworthy. Myself, I stumbled upon this:

90  Super Mario Bros. Online / Game Help / Unstable server? on: April 24, 2010, 12:21:02 pm
This server is more unstable this patch than last time. Any reason why?
