Do you have what it takes to make the next SMBO promotional video?

Requirements:
-Shows off a lot of the game in a maximum of 3 minutes
-No scene is longer than 20 seconds
-Flashy and well-presented
-If you're using words, do not show a recording of you talking in the SMBO chat; instead, display them on the screen using your video editing program
-Have fun making it!

NOTE: Your video will be judged based on how well you satisfy these requirements (especially the third point), not just the fact that they're satisfied, so make it good!

February 30, 2013

How to submit:

Upload the video somewhere private (Ex. YouTube private video, Photobucket, etc.) and put the link in a post on this topic.

NOTE: If you edit your post AFTER the deadline but BEFORE the winner is chosen, I'll assume you updated your video link, in which case you'll be disqualified. Get your videos done early!

The winner will be chosen based on the video that hydrakiller4000 and I think is best.

Rewards:
Now on to the good stuff. The winner of the contest will not only get his/her video put up on the official SMBO YouTube channel, but he/she will also receive:

-Two ingame non-event items of your choice. This includes Life Shrooms, minigame items, currency, items in the DE shop, and another of any one-time item

would it be fine if we made a scene or two just a few seconds past 20, in case that the certain scene being shown requires more than 20 seconds to fully present it?

A maximum of 20 seconds. You can't go above at all, although if it's a few milliseconds or a fraction of a second I won't care.

Anyone know of a good video-editing program?

Magix Movie Edit Pro and Song Vegas come to mind, but those aren't free. If you are looking for a free one, idk any.

I'm finally ready to record, but I need a better free software other than Camstudio... its quality is pretty low, so I don't think it'll cut it.

A good one can be found here (http://www.nch.com.au/components/debutsetup.exe), but it's free only for a limited time.

The contest is officially over and there have been no entrants :(.

What a shame... I'll try and get a late entry in just for the sake of another promotional video for more players, but it'll have to wait another week or two. :'(

I might attempt one in a while, but I've had a bunch of work and application stuff to take care of most of this month.

Man I've tried to promote SMBO on Vizzed, but the thread got closed from complaints of the virus issue even though I stated clearly there's no virus.

Hmm, well video recording and editing is no problem for me... I just need to figure out what I should film, especially since a lot is already covered in the official promo vid already.

I have some ideas on what goes into the video, I just haven't had the time to go make the video and edit it yet.
