plus the about us section telling people not to register for my tree? Yet today was just one of many where someone's blown me off & either tried to register &/or tried to send me a message anyway.
Well...this is partially Tribal Pages fault. They have no business having a registration feature. To add total strangers would be to null & void out the "block living people" feature. I can see add or invite...
people you know. But I can't see a registration feature. I also can't see not having any way to shut it off. The only way I can stop people from trying to register is to block the whole tree...the deceased included. I guess I'm going to have to do it 'til I can find another tree that don't have a registration feature.

partially Tribal Pages fault. Please don't assume sending me a note telling me who you are & how we're related makes us old friends. Equally please don't assume just because I slapped up my tree that makes me a pro genealogist. Indeed...please
don't assume anything. It's what's currently ruining the world IMO.
When people try to register for my tree my reply is simply repeating the scrolling text & about us section...like a parrot or a broken record. Because a link's included some of my replies may go straight to people's spam folder...but not all. Some have replied to my reply. Or came here & joined this site. There's at least one person per week that seems so eager to share. Yet we have 14 parent boards, 4 child boards & a few features sitting here rotting. This is why I shut down in the first place. And this is why I doubt I'll ever be involved in a shared tree again.
My tree's not open for registration. You're welcome to search/view/print/copy & tell your family about it. And it's my tree...not a genealogy site or a research tool.
It's stats & stats only. If I find wiki article or a memorial for the deceased I add the link to the notes section. That's as good as it gets. And
what you see is what you get. So please don't contact me for more info. If I had it I'd post it.
Speaking of find a grave memorials...if you know where your people are buried
please create memorials for them. Joining find a grave & posting memorials are both free. Actually first
search to make sure somebody else hasn't already created a memorial for them. If they have & you're close family...you can nicely request management of it. If they haven't...you can add it yourself. Otherwise note you don't have to manage a memorial to upload a pic to it or post flowers/notes on it...you just have to be registered & logged in. Also note you don't even have to be a member to suggest corrections or request linkage. You just have to click on the button "edit" & the link "suggest a correction". If you don't get it check your spam folder.
Until you do this you're not really registered. Then once you're registered
you still have to login to post anything.

share info. There's also more then enough FAQ's, links to tutorials & helpful posts around here for people to be able to use this site. I hope people read, follow directions & show some respect soon because until then people will continue spreading garbage around the net like it's the gospel & also our unsolved puzzles will continue to remain unsolved.
