Do we have anybody near Springtown Texas? Because the Springtown Cemetery needs to be spoken to.
It looks like a city or town cemetery. But evidently it's ran like a private family cemetery. I asked if Mary was definitely buried here but there's no map/list so they don't know. They have a cemetery association. They still have plots & they're still selling them. But they have no map/list to keep track of who they're putting where.
Then why are they still selling plots? Why was there only one map? Why wasn't it put somewhere safe? How long has it been gone? Why hasn't anybody made another one? If the "secretary" has no computer knowledge or the knowledge to handle this shouldn't you hire someone who does? I think the selling of plots needs to be put on hold til you can find a secretary who can do more then sell plots (that may already have a resident in them) & collect money.
The thing is a large part of the job has already been done for them. This cemetery has been added to Find A Grave & has over 2,000 people in it.
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GScid=172551&CRid=172551&pt=Springtown%20Cemetery&. Print the list. Map out the cemetery & note these people on the map. And you're well on your way to a new map.
There's also cemetery mapping software:

Regardless there's no excuse to lose a map. And there's really no excuse for having no interest in replacing it. If you live near this cemetery or have people in it I'd see to it the association gains the interest or get another association.
