After MUCH negotiating on the price of Manchester venues, I ahve finally come to an agreement with the Hilton Deansgate hotel to hold a doll show there at the end of July 2010. Discover Dolls Magazine will be running some awards, the details of which will be anounced later this summer, and the Manchester venue will also host our annual awards ceremony the night before. Details of all that will be announced when they are finalised, but I will be taking enquiries for the Manchester show right away, and will start confirming bookings in a couple of weeks time. I haven't got booking forms yet, as there are still a few factors to be accounted for, but if you send an email to cathy@discoverdolls.co.uk and put the title Manchester show, I will put you on the list. When you email me can to please give your name, business/nursery name and a brief description of what you do and what you would like to sell at the show. Cathy xx P.S. Sorry I posted this in General too, I didn't see this section to start with. Delete the one in General if you like!

That sounds wonderful. Does that mean the Doll show at Peterborough will not be held next year then? x x

Hi cathy,
Could you help me on this one, i was told by a friend who stayed in the hilton ( in manchester) reacently (sp) that there is a very small car park there and parking was £20.00 per day and you couldn't park the car outside the hotel, how would those off us who did exibit get all our things into the hotel without fear of having things stollen. Plus there was exra parking but it was across th road and the prices there for parking was very expencive too, this could turn out to be a very expencive weekend for those of us who are exbiting, the cost of a nights stay is over £100.00, i know we all run the risk of not selling anything but the cost of a table, nights stay and then parking!!!!!!
can you shed some light on this please hun!

I am exhibiting, but hubby says it will be better to stay out of Manchester and drive in on the morning of the show to unload.

To the best of my recollection ( don't quote me) there is an unloading bay somewhere behind the hotel. Been some years since I did a show there, you have to move your car away to the car park after unloading.xxCeinwen
